Xue Lan is Distinguished Professor of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsinghua University; Dean of Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University; Dean of the Institute for AI International Governance, Tsinghua University. His research focuses on public policy, STI policy, crisis management, and global governance. From 2000 to 2018, he served as Deputy Dean, Executive Deputy Dean, and Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua. He is the Convener of the Public Administration Disciplinary Appraisal Panel of the State Council, Director of the National Expert Committee on New Generation AI Governance, and a member of the OECD Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Board. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the Fudan Premium Fund of Management.
