Abstract: The current media-driven construction of superintelligence narratives within the industrial sector is progressively deepening its mediatized discourse. Some scholars contend that superintelligence represents a new discursive trend or a manifestation of entertainment-oriented tendencies, highlighting the external harms associated with its mediatized narratives. However, fixating on this perspective risks diverting discussions about superintelligence onto a tangential path, overlooking its ontological significance. The ontological significance of artificial intelligence is now widely acknowledged among scholars. From a continuous theory perspective, superintelligence-as the future stage of AI-requires further exploration of its ontological implications. The functional interpretation of superintelligence proposed herein acknowledges ASI's potential to resolve ontological dilemmas, indicating that the significance of superintelligence points toward supra-empirical questions.
